Legendary former Chicago Bears star and Super Bowl champion Matt Suhey has died at the age of 68.The former fullback, who never missed a game in his NFL career, passed away over Labor Day weekend. A cause of death has not been announced.Suhey scored the first touchdown in the Super Bowl at the end of the 1985 season, helping the Bears to beat the New England Patriots 46-10 and capture the franchise’s first and only Lombardi Trophy.He spent his whole 10-year NFL career in Chicago after playing college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.Suhey appeared in 148 regular season games during his career and formed a bruising rushing partnership with NFL icon Walter Payton in the Windy City. Payton was the godfather of Suhey’s son, Scott.He finished his career with 2,946 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. He also caught 260 passes for 2,113 yards and five touchdowns.
