It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team… Forest prepared to go again on Bergvall Nottingham Forest are preparing a bid worth £45m for Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall after having a £38m offer rejected earlier in the window.Oliver Glasner’s side have identified Bergvall as a replacement for Elliot Anderson and will return with improved structure for the Swede, who is believed to be valued at £50m.Spurs do not want Bergvall to go but he is keen for regular football. Crysencio Summerville looks set to leave West Ham following the club’s relegation from the Premier LeagueAs it stands, the England international could be re-integrated into the United squad. Despite interest from Fenerbahce, Rashford has no interest in going to Turkey at this stage.Other clubs remain attentive to Summerville’s situation as talks continue. West Ham are also anticipating offers for defender Jean-Clair Todibo.Villa swoop for Gomes Aston Villa have stepped in for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes.The 25-year-old is leaving Wolves’ training camp in Portugal to finalise a move worth around £38million. Joao Gomes was one of Wolves’ best players last season – despite the club suffering relegation to the ChampionshipThe Brazilian international had been set for a move to Atletico Madrid but that stalled last month as they switched to other targets.He has said his goodbyes to teammates and is now expected to undergo a medical at Villa after talks between the clubs accelerated.Gomes joined Wolves from Flamengo in the summer of 2023, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux.
