Kristin Cavallari doubles down on shock divorce claims after split from ex-NFL star Jay Cutler

Reality television star Kristin Cavallari is doubling down on her claims that she walked away from her divorce from former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler without a dime. The 39-year-old recently opened up about the bitter split, claiming she was actually forced to pay out her ex-husband when their marriage legally ended in 2022. Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Cavallari gave a candid account about the reality of her personal finances. ‘I don’t get any money from my ex-husband,’ Cavallari stated, doubling down on comments that she had previously made last summer. ‘I had to give him half the value of [her business] Uncommon James in cash and properties and everything else. Isn’t that interesting’. Cavallari emphasized that she completely self-funded the jewelry and lifestyle brand, noting that its eventual success ‘gave me the confidence to leave my marriage’. You can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It’s online… So, you go to divorce and each side gets a lawyer, and then you go to court and there’s a judge,’ he explained.’In the state of Tennessee, if we would have went to the judge and been like: ‘Hey, he’s going to keep every single dollar over the past seven years and you’re going to get nothing’. There’s not a judge in the state of Tennessee that would’ve signed that.’They would be like: ‘No, this isn’t right. This isn’t legal.’ So, there’s that.’ Cavallari also claimed that she and Cutler no longer share a 50-50 custody agreement for their three kids – sons Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9.  Cutler was previously trouble with the law in Tennessee after he was arrested back in 2024Beyond the financial dispute, Cavallari also used her Tuesday podcast appearance to drop a major revelation regarding the former couple’s children. She confirmed that she and Cutler no longer share a 50-50 custody agreement for their three kids – sons Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9. While she did not elaborate on the legal specifics, she previously told People that she now holds primary custody. Cavallari said: ‘I have chosen to be the best mom that I could be and be a good business owner and that’s the trade-off. I would love to tell you Uncommon James is a $100 million company and it’s not. ‘But I am the best mom and my kids will tell you that also.’ Cavallari and Cutler became engaged in 2011 and were married for nearly seven years before announcing their highly publicized split in April 2020. Cutler was previously in trouble with the law in Tennessee after he was arrested and served a sentence for DUI, two years ago.The arrest, which happened in October 2024, led to a four-day prison sentence as part of a plea deal the former Chicago Bears quarterback made with prosecutors in Tennessee.Cutler was arrested in the suburb of Franklin, outside of Nashville – the city where he went to college and where he got married to Cavallari.
