Sprint sensation Gout Gout has revealed that he won’t be able to compete until next year after picking up a serious injury to his hamstring.The 18-year-old record-breaker announced the news on social media on Thursday and told his fans the complaint will keep him out of the event he planned to skip the Commonwealth Games for.’Unfortunately I suffered an injury to my left hamstring last night at training in Brisbane,’ Gout wrote.’I received this morning the MRI report, unfortunately the news is not good and I will not be able to compete in Eugene at the World U20 Championships next month.’Gout then said the doctor’s comments on the MRI scan showed he has a ‘partial thickness tear’ of the hamstring and the tendon has been partially disrupted for more than eight centimetres in length. It amounts to a grade 3C injury according to the British Athletics Muscle Injury Classification system, which means he is carrying a severe and extensive tear.
