Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has revealed he is banned from his local tip following a bizarre row with a member of staff.Butt, 51, says he got into a blazing confrontation with a worker at the tip who prevented him from entering because he thought his Range Rover was a commercial vehicle as the seats were down.The former England star claims the attendant then chased him after he defied his orders and drove into the site, thought to be the Woodhouse Lane Recycling Centre in Altrincham.Butt said on The Good, The Bad and The Football Podcast that the incident had left him ‘raging’.’I’ve got a lot of c**p from the house, bit of cardboard . . . I missed the bin man last week, so I’ve got a few smelly bags,’ he said. ‘So I put the windows down, obviously my seats were down and apparently I’m not going in because of it. So I’ve got up the ramp, I see this bloke getting up . . . trying to chase me up the hill, but he’s got his walkie-talkie out.’So I’ve literally got up the top, throw all the bags out, and I’m going back down the hill, and he’s going mad at me. Anyway, I’m banned from the tip.’ Butt appears on the podcast with former Man United team-mate Paul Scholes, and comedian and television presenter Paddy McGuinness.The ex-United stars have caused controversy on the show after being criticised for their opinions on Lisandro Martinez.Butt won the Champions League, six Premier League titles and three FA Cups at Old Trafford. He left in the summer of 2004 to join Newcastle in a deal worth £2.5million.Since his retirement, Butt has been chief executive of League Two side Salford City and also served as head of Man United’s academy for five years.
