Ferrari star Charles Leclerc has come under fire from David Coulthard – with the driver’s wife Alexandra coming into particular focus.The duo, who tied the knot in February, have become a motorsport power couple, regularly seen together in the paddock at races alongside their dog, Leo.Leo has quickly become a viral fan favourite across the community due to his multiple appearances at races – though he and Alexandra haven’t exactly brought good luck to Charles this season.The 28-year-old is down in fifth in the drivers’ standings, despite there being high hopes for Ferrari at the start of the year.He is behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton, as well as Mercedes duo Kimi Antonelli and George Russell and defending world champion Lando Norris.And, according to Coulthard, Leclerc’s behaviour at races isn’t helping him. The former Formula One star took aim at the likes of Alexandra accompanying him to races, insisting Leclerc is doing ‘too much’. It’s a Grand Prix, it’s a serious business. It’s a dangerous business, but that’s probably me being of an older generation.’They (Ferrari) don’t have a choice. They’ve employed two of the best drivers in the world. You then manage them as best you can.’Coulthard, though, has already received backlash.The wife of former world champion Jenson Button, Brittny, hit back in defence of the attitude towards the drivers’ families.She replied on Instagram: ‘As an ex wag, I’m happy to see that formula one is embracing the drivers partners/families more,’ she wrote. ‘The paddock was not a very welcoming place for women for so long.’In my opinion, this is a great and positive change.’In February, Charles tied the knot with Alexandra in a picturesque wedding in Monaco – just one week before the 2026 Formula One season started. It is one of the most valuable vintage Ferraris, particularly given the racing success and significance of the model for the legendary Italian company.He also posted on X: ‘A day we’ll forever remember. ‘Part one is done and part 2 will be next year with all of our close ones.’
