Disgruntled NFL fans have voiced their frustrations with the stadium used for the 49ers-Rams clash in Australia, claiming that fans attending had a ‘horrible’ view.Just moments before the action got underway in Melbourne, a number of videos which showed the fans’ perspective inside the ground went viral on social media. One video in particular, shared by a Niners fan, showed their ‘front row’ seats at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The issue was that they were nowhere near the action.Due to the vast size of the cricket ground, the football field only made up a fraction of the turf available – meaning even the closest fans were seated a fair distance away. One account on X, which re-posted the Niners fan’s video, added the caption: ‘Imagine buying front row seats to an NFL game & this is what you get.’Another account wrote: ‘The front row in Australia is farther than the nosebleeds in America.’ NFL fans have ripped into their ‘horrible’ view of the 49ers-Rams clash in Melbourne Some users online noted how far the fans inside the stadium were from the action One fan shared a video of their front row seats, which further riled up fans over the matter’Gotta be the worst front row seats in NFL history,’ one fan wrote online. Meanwhile, a snapshot from Netflix’s coverage of the game similarly went viral, as it panned around the stadium and showcased just how far the fans were. In reaction to that clip, one account wrote: ‘Fans in Australia for this 49ers/Rams game are seated incredibly far away from the field.’Despite the frustrations, there were still around 100,000 fans packed into the Melbourne Cricket Ground to take in the second game of the NFL season. Prior to the action getting underway, New York-based ‘soft rock’ band Infinity Song took to the stage to perform the American national anthem. However, their performance fell flat among viewers watching back on US soil – with hundreds of them swiftly rushing to social media to offer their criticisms.’Is this the worst version of the US national anthem ever?,’ one fan wrote on X. Another disgruntled viewer wrote: ‘This might be the worst performance of a national anthem ever holy s***.”These people sound terrible singing the national anthem!’, another said online.
