Jessica Alba deletes her bloodied Nancy Kerrigan costume photos after backlash on Halloween

Jessica Alba has deleted her Halloween photos after her costume of bloodied ice skating legend Nancy Kerrigan received backlash. The 45-year-old actress was joined by her pal Kelly Sawyer, who dressed up as skater Tonya Harding, as they did a recreation of the infamous 1994 attack.Though the snaps were deleted from her Instagram, Alba seemingly forgot to delete the images from Instagram’s sister site Threads where they still remained as of Monday morning. In the snaps, Alba channeled one of Kerrigan’s best known looks with a lacy white dress, tights and ice skates. Most eyebrow-raising of all, however, was a bloody bandage around her left knee. Sawyer, 51, donned a sparkly maroon dress as she held a baseball bat to hammer down the attack narrative.  Jessica Alba has deleted her Halloween photos after her costume of bloodied ice skating legend Nancy Kerrigan received backlash (Source: Jessica Alba / Threads) The 45-year-old actress was joined by her pal Kelly Sawyer, whose costume was Tonya Harding, as they did a recreation of the infamous 1994 attack (Source: Jessica Alba / Threads) Above, Harding (left) and Kerrigan (right) during a training session for the 1994 Winter OlympicsSawyer is a Canadian-American businesswoman and philanthropist best known for founding Baby2Baby, which is a national non-profit organization that provides basic necessities to children living in poverty. Alba’s caption also mentioned Harding’s mom LaVona Fay Golden who was famously portrayed by Allison Janney in 2017 biographical dark comedy I, Tonya which earned the actress a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. Harding was never criminally convicted of any involvement but did receive a lifetime ban from the US Figure Skating Association. The baseball bat was also not accurate to the actual story as the man who was hired by Harding’s ex husband, Shane Stant, actually used a police baton at the time of the attack.  The incident occurred on January 6, 1994 at the US Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, Michigan as reigning national champion Kerrigan was clubbed on her lower leg with a telescopic baton. There was famous footage recorded after the attack featuring Kerrigan sobbing on the floor while yelling ‘why? why? why?’ which became one of the most iconic moments of the decade. In recent years, Harding revealed she first heard about the possible plot to take out Kerrigan two months before the 1994 US National Championships. The disgraced figure skater claimed that she began to suspect a plan was being hatched after overhearing a conversation her then-husband Jeff Gillooly was having with his friend Shawn Eckardt.
