World’s best restaurants for 2026 revealed – and a London spot with a £380 tasting menu takes the crown

Restaurants provide a place to gather with loved ones and tuck into delicious food, whilst enjoying a cosy atmosphere and good service. 

There are renowned eateries around the world that impress with their talented chefs and mouth-watering menus.

From a ‘spiced-based’ restaurant sat inside a Brutalist building in London, to an Italian venue dishing up spectacular food in Rome.

Experts have selected the top 10 establishments from the Food & Wine Global Tastemakers list of Best International Restaurants.

1. Ikoyi, London, UK

Located in central London, Ikoyi offers a £380 tasting menu served five days a week and was crowned the best eatery.

The restaurant serves up ‘spice-based cuisine’ that takes inspiration from Lagos, in Nigeria, whilst also using seasonal British produce.

Diners can try one-of-a-kind dishes like jollof rice smoked in oak chips and served with shellfish custard, for example.  

It’s high in demand – reservations are only released on the first of each month and can be made two months in advance.

Maido combines local cuisine with a Japanese twist and is the brainchild of chef Mitsuharu Tsumura.

Tsumura returned to Peru in 2009 and opened the award-winning restaurant after working in Japanese restaurants for years. 

The venue serves up Nikkei-inspired dishes with ingredients that reflect Peru. 

3. CieL Dining, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

This small restaurant villa located in Ho Chi Minh achieved Michelin star status around one year after opening. 

CieL Dining offers dinner-only tasting menus designed by chef Vi?t H?ng who bases his cooking around Vietnamese cuisine, whilst adding small references to his French experience.

He says, ‘I used to think that I just cooked only French cuisine with luxurious ingredients, but when I worked with our farmers, our terroir, explored native ingredients, rare varieties of herbs and spices around Vietnam and Japan, these experiences have widely awakened my senses.

‘By using the finest and freshest ingredients, and carefully treating them with the highest level of culinary skills to bring out the authentic flavour rather than showing off or overplaying, it fundamentally becomes the DNA of CieL’s cuisine.’

Arami only opened in 2024 and has already made a splash in the restaurant scene. 

Meaning, ‘little piece of heaven’ in Guarani, the establishment has even been named the best restaurant in Bolivia in 2025.

The premise of the venue is to bring together the Amazon and the Bolivian Andes through its casual dining. 

It takes inspiration from Amazonian produce and uses Bolivian ingredients in its specially crafted seasonal menus. 

5. Potong, Bangkok, Thailand

Potong offers Sino-Thai cuisine and can be found in Bangkok’s Chinatown in Yaowaraj. 

Guests can dine on a 20-course tasting menu that offers a range of flavours from China to Southeast Asia.

Chef Pam (Pichaya Soontornyanakij), who owns Potong, is also the first Asian to be named the world’s best female chef. She also leads the WFW Program that helps to empower young female chefs. 

6. Naar, Himachal Pradesh, India

Meaning fire in Kashmiri, the restaurant was created by chef Prateek Sadhu who aims to offer a ‘Himalayan-forward cuisine’.

There are only 16 seats available and the venue is surrounded by 20 acres of rolling hills, sat inside an eco-resort and farm.

Diners can enjoy a range of different dishes, like iklu which is a Himachali fry bread served with jaggery and ghee.

7. Botánico, Mexico City, Mexico

Located in Mexico City, Botánico was crafted by Alejandra Navarro and Ernesto Hernández.

The restaurant sits inside an art deco house and guests will find themselves sat amongst towering cacti and lush greenery. 

The menu consists of anything from wagyu hamburger to grilled octopus, and many reviews gush over the cocktails.

Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina can be found in Rome and serves up a range of Italian dishes including tortella di coda e pecorino – consisting of homemade tortello with roman oxtail stew and pecorino cheese. 

The restaurant also boasts a gourmet shop, as well as a wine cellar. 

Its website reads: ‘The kitchen offers classic Roman dishes peered with exciting journeys beyond the capital, using high quality products sourced from the deli counter or the shelves.’ 

9. Lunch Lady, Vancouver, Canada

Lunch Lady serves Vietnamese street food in Vancouver and is named after the legendary late chef Nguyen Thi Thanh.

The award-winning eatery offers a vast menu including Mì Xào Bò – a dish of stir-fried instant noodles served with ribeye of beef, gai lan and pork crackling. 

One of their signature dishes is the S??n N??ng which is a 14oz grilled prok tomahawk hop with pineapple, shishito peppers, lettuce, herbs and a vinaigrette. 

10. Saint Peter, Sydney, Australia

The restaurant can be found in the heritage-listed Grand National Hotel, sitting below 14 guest rooms.
