Xabi Alonso bemoaned his misfiring Chelsea team after they lost their drive at Brentford – shipping three goals in a drab second-half showing.Defeat leaves Chelsea winless in three games before the three-week international break, losing away to west London neighbours Brentford for the first time since their promotion to the Premier League in 2021.Chelsea were undone by three second half goals as Alonso’s side failed to test Caoimhin Kelleher after the interval, failing to score for the first time this season.Speaking post-match, Blues boss Alonso accused his team of lacking ‘competitive mentality’ – admitting he has a tough job on his hands.’We dropped our consistency and competitive mentality in the second half,’ said Alonso.’The small details can be decisive.
