Ukrainian star Marta Kostyuk has caught the attention of Wimbledon fans with the debut of a second bridal-inspired tennis dress, after her initial design with kit sponsor Wilson went viral in 2024. Then, the Madrid Open winner sported a made-for-the-court replica of her 2023 wedding gown – which was also designed by the brand – which featured a sheer white overlay over her sleeveless dress. For this year’s tournament, Kostyuk has revisited the popular design with the Marta Dress 2.0, with this year’s look made from a performance-ready lace pattern redolent of a bride’s veil. As per Wilson, the design features ‘a sophisticated two-piece construction consisting of a bra, vest and skirt system, accented with technical lace detailing that elevates the look while maintaining the functionality required at the highest levels of the sport.’What appears to be delicate, proves to be indestructible with a four-way stretch performance weave,’ the kit sponsor added. ‘To have a dress named after me, that was envisioned by me, feels absolutely surreal,’ Kostyuk said following the launch of the limited edition design. ‘Working with the Wilson team, especially Joelle, has been nothing short of amazing- I am able to help create looks that not only look beautiful, but are meant to perform on-court.’As with the original Marta dress, the design was available for sale, but despite its £150 price tag, the outfit is already widely sold-out. On the heels of a towering season on clay that saw her claim the title in Madrid and reach the semi-final at the French Open, Kostyuk has been moving through the draw at a clip after beating Nadia Podoroska in the opening round, and Anna Blinkova in the second. After her opening defeat of Podoroska, Kostyuk shared a picture of herself twirling on court to display the fluidity of her skirt with the caption ‘first dance complete’. Fans were quick to gush over how ‘beautiful’ her dress was, with sponsor Wilson posting a tennis ball emoji and ballet shoes emoji underneath in recognition of the dress’ lightness. ‘Best outfit in tour,’ one supporter wrote in the comments, while another agreed: ‘The dress of my dreams’.
