Tyson Fury celebrates his remarkable body transformation after ‘coming back from 28 stone’ as he prepares to fight Anthony Joshua to be crowned Britain’s heavyweight king

Tyson Fury is celebrating a remarkable body transformation as he prepares to fight Anthony Joshua in Cardiff in December. The Gypsy King claims he has battled back from 28st – as heavy as an adult mountain gorilla – to chisel down to the shape he’s in today.Fury and Joshua will contest a blockbuster clash at the Principality Stadium in the early hours of Saturday, December 12, with each boxer pocketing around £75million. It is arguably the biggest bout ever held on British soil, but has to be fought at around 2am to cater to an American audience. Fury’s physique has fluctuated heavily down the years – in January he described himself as a ‘fat, binge-drinking junk-food addict’ as he returned from retirement for a fifth time – but he is not messing around on this occasion. The fighter shared a past photo of himself sat down and looking rather portly in a red tee-shirt – and revealed the radically sharper form he has adopted in his training camp in another picture, complete with multi-coloured pants. ‘Never forget where I came back from, over 28 stone. Never give up on ya self, anything is possible with God.’Get up and get yourself back on track today!’  Tyson Fury has revealed his astonishing body transformation from a weight of 28 stone (Instagram: tysonfury) Fury has taken on a chiselled shape ahead of his bout with Anthony Joshua in December (Instagram: tysonfury)Fury, 38, has always had a laugh about his physique – before punishing anyone who underestimated him. On his return this year he has beaten Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach in warm-ups for his test against AJ.He told the Daily Mail in 2023: ‘It’s good to have a good body. I would love to have a good body. But, I don’t have any hope of having a good body.’I have been training for well over 20 years and I still haven’t got a good body. I’ve been in a training camp, living like a monk, for the past 12 weeks and I still don’t have a good body.’I didn’t have a good body when I was in my teens, so never mind clocking onto 40 years old. But, the one thing I’ve learnt is this isn’t a bodybuilding contest.’Although I don’t look a man who can do long distance or run for 20 miles, I am a man who can do that.’I think of myself as an old fashioned kind of guy who can go in there and have a fight, it doesn’t really matter what I look like. It’s about getting the victory.’If I had a 10 pack and I looked like Adonis – completely unbelievable and I wasn’t winning, it’s pointless. So I don’t really care about being fat.’I actually embrace being fat because my love handles separate me from the rest of the world, ever in history. There’s never been anyone like me and there never will be. The roots of Joshua-Fury stretch back more than a decade, to when both men were emerging as Britain’s leading heavyweight prospects  Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has come out on top to host the fight after weeks of negotiations
‘That’s what makes me so tough and that’s what makes me, me. If you said to me, “Right Tyson, we will give you the opportunity to get rid of the fat on you and we will give you a full six pack”, I wouldn’t take it because that’s not me.’I am fat now, I was fat as a baby and I will be fat on my death bed. We’re all fat. Hughie is fat, Shane’s fat, my dad’s fat and even my mum’s fat. I hope she’s not watching this. But, we’re a fat family.’He trains every day, my brother Hughie, like unbelievable. He’ll run, train, box. I am the same. Two-three times a day, in or out of camp but I’ve always been fat. Even when I got down to 17stone, like this, I still had love handles. It’s my trademark for sure.’Fury’s fight with AJ will be staged on British soil after Joshua’s team, led by Eddie Hearn, succeeded in forcing the promotion’s Saudi backers to scrap plans to stage the showdown in New York.Hearn initially pushed for Wembley Stadium, but the combination of a roof over the Principality Stadium and the Welsh government’s willingness to bend their late-night curfew swung the fight towards Cardiff. The ring walk is expected to take place around 2am to suit a US-based audience, in line with the demands of Netflix, which will broadcast the heavyweight showdown.Although the delivery of the fight in Wales will be positioned as a victory for British fight fans, pragmatism around tax was also a key consideration in Hearn’s argument against Madison Square Garden in New York.As Daily Mail Sport revealed in September, the two fighters would have been taxed around 30 per cent of their purses in America, compared to 20 per cent in the UK, with Joshua particularly unhappy about the prospect of an extra £7.5m being added to his bill. The two-time world champion instead demanded that his contract be honoured, which stipulated a British-based fight.
