The wife of Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter took aim at legendary NFL tight end-turned-podcaster Shannon Sharpe over a perceived insult to her husband.Hunter played both cornerback and wide receiver under another former two-way star, Deion Sanders, at the University of Colorado, but struggled to contribute on both sides of the ball as a rookie in Jacksonville last season.Things certainly changed on Sunday in London, where the Jags fell to the Houston Texans as Hunter put together the best two-way performance of his young career. Not only did he make four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown, but he also intercepted a pass on defense, bringing his total to two for the season. For Hunter’s wife, Lenee, the performance was enough to dispel any notion that Hunter should be limited to one side of the football. To underline her point, Lenee posted a shot on Instagram while tagging Sharpe.’Anyways… @shannonsharpe84 When you speak about my husband, make sure [you] put ‘TWO WAY’ player in front.’Sharpe was quick to deny making any such statement. Instead, he clarified that he believes Hunter is a two-way player, albeit one whose snap totals may be limited to avoid wear and tear. He has All-Pro ability at corner. He’s an athlete at the wide receiver position that you can use him in spots.’It remains to be seen if Hunter’s offensive role will continue to grow this season. While he has been playing extensively on defense, Hunter has been primarily used in specific packages on the other side of the football. That all changed Sunday, when Jaguars coach Liam Coen benched starting receiver Brian Thomas Jr. after a few dropped passes.
