Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis has ruled on whether Tiger Woods will be allowed behind the wheel of a golf cart while serving his five-year driving ban. The golf legend, 50, pleaded no contest to reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test on Wednesday after striking a deal with prosecutors in the wake of his DUI arrest. The 15-time major winner originally pleaded not guilty following the March incident which saw him flip his SUV on Jupiter Island but he appeared in a Florida courthouse on Wednesday to change his plea. He was originally charged with driving under the influence but has now pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of reckless driving. As part of the deal, Woods will have his license suspended for five years.The deal sparked concerns among fans that the driving ban could affect Woods’ performance on the fairways with many speculating that it could extend to golf carts. Woods was found at the scene of the crash in Jupiter, Florida with two opioid tablets in his pocket, on March 27.He has since spent time in rehab in Switzerland but had not been seen publicly since arriving back in America until last month. According to police, Woods was driving at a high speed along a beachside road when his Land Rover clipped a tractor-trailer truck and rolled onto its side, causing about $5,000 worth of damage to the other vehicle.He was able to crawl out of the car without any injuries before later admitting to officers he was looking at his phone and changing the radio at the time of the collision.A Breathalyzer test did not reveal any alcohol in Woods’s system, but he refused a urine test, according to police.The Sheriff’s report obtained by the Daily Mail said deputies found opioids in his pocket and he showed signs of impairment.
