Manchester United made a fresh enquiry for Newcastle United left back Lewis Hall at the end of last month but were told he is not for sale.As reported, Hall has been on United’s radar this summer as it is clear they need to strengthen that position with Luke Shaw, now 31, in the final year of his contract while youngster Harry Amass has been told he may be best leaving for first team football.Hall, 21, has three years left on his current contract, and would require a substantial fee with Newcastle looking to stabilise with Matthias Jaissle now in place.The club want to add players to ensure they are competitive, having already lost the likes of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while Bruno Guimaraes is on the verge of signing for Arsenal.They will do all they can to keep hold of Hall, who is now seen as one of their biggest assets after joining from Chelsea in 2023.United, meanwhile, feel they are light in the position. Shaw started all 38 Premier League matches last season, though there is no obvious back-up, with Patrick Dorgu viewed as a winger by Michael Carrick.
