Aston Villa are closing in on Chelsea’s £65million-rated striker Nicolas Jackson as a replacement for wantaway Al-Hilal target Ollie Watkins.Sources have told Daily Mail Sport an initial proposal has been put to Chelsea by Villa over how they would be prepared to meet their valuation for Jackson including add-ons. The precise figures are remaining confidential for now so as to not compromise a potential deal.Negotiations are ongoing between the clubs, with it is also understood talks have been progressing over personal terms.Daily Mail Sport reported last month how Jackson was interested in a potential switch to Villa to work with his former head coach Unai Emery again, after their time together at Villarreal.Jackson’s name came up during conversations between Chelsea and Villa centred on Morgan Rogers, who moved to Stamford Bridge for a club-record £117m. Alejandro Garnacho joined Villa on loan from Chelsea this summer also, leaving only a permanent move as a possibility for Jackson due to rules.
