It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…Newcastle may have to go to £40m for Swiss starNewcastle are showing interest in Switzerland’s Johan Manzambi.The 20-year-old plays for Freiburg in Germany, is viewed as a dynamic box-to-box player and was voted Europa League Young Player of the Year.Manzambi became a regular starter for Freiburg last season, making 47 appearances and recording 16 goal involvements in all competitions.The Bundesliga side value him highly so his price tag is likely to be around £40million.Newcastle want a midfielder with Sandro Tonali expected to leave and Bruno Guimaraes agitating for a move also.Tottenham are working hard on Tonali while Arsenal have had an offer rejected for Guimaraes.Newcastle have not yet opened talks over a new deal for the Brazilian. Indeed, the 20-year-old Hoffenheim flyer has attracted attention from a number of top clubs this summer.A right-footed winger, who predominantly plays off the left flank, he can also play in the right and as a central striker. He has explosive pace and has caught the eye for his ability in one on one situations.
