It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team… Manzambi bound for Toon Newcastle United have an agreement in principle with Freiburg for midfielder Johan Manzambi in a £49million deal.Though the Switzerland international has given verbal agreement on personal terms, he will not sign his contract until after the World Cup, with Switzerland preparing for a quarter-final against Argentina in the early hours of Sunday morning.German sources maintain that Aston Villa and Manchester United have also shown degrees of interest.Newcastle are also monitoring developments with Nottingham Forest full-back Neco Williams.The Wales international is also on a long list of options for Manchester United should they decide to pursue a left back this window.Forest have offered Williams new terms and he has three years left on contract.Manchester United expect to confirm the signings of Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow over the weekend. Brazil midfielder Ederson is also undergoing thorough medical tests before they can confirm his arrival from Atalanta. Newcastle United have agreed a £49million deal with Freiburg for youngster Johan ManzambiVeteran Coleman in talks with Blades Seamus Coleman has held talks with Sheffield United as manager Chris Wilder looks for a new right-back.The 37-year-old Coleman left Everton at the end of the season and has an offer to return there in a coaching capacity. However, Coleman has been determined to extend his playing career domestically and with Republic of Ireland and has taken up an invite to train with Wilder’s squad.The Blades have also been hoping to sign Coleman’s former teammate Lewis Dobbin from Aston Villa on loan. But Villa want a permanent sale.Upson Jnr in Arsenal frame  Elijah Upson has visited Arsenal’s training ground as he considers his next move after leaving Tottenham.The 18-year-old defender, who is the son of former West Ham and England centre-back Matthew, has a number of top clubs chasing his signature after he turned down the professional terms offered by Spurs.He is spending time visiting various suitors as he looks to make a decision over the next week. The right-sided centre-back has some illustrious names to consider.Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Monaco have all registered their interest. Upson had been with Spurs since he was seven and featured for their U17, U18, and U21 sides, including in the U17 Premier League Cup-winning squad. His pace and athleticism, partly inherited from his sprinter mother, Ellie Darby, have been standout attributes during his youth career. Johnstone an option for Everton Everton are assessing Sam Johnstone as an option to bolster their goalkeeping ranks, Daily Mail Sport understands.The Toffees could add a number two goalkeeper this summer, with Coventry City in the hunt for their existing understudy, Mark Travers.The 33-year-old former England international is one of several goalkeepers on their shortlist to support Jordan Pickford.Johnstone made 30 appearances for relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, although he missed the latter part of the campaign due to a shoulder injury. His deal at Wolves runs until summer 2028.Everton had previously made an offer to free agent Karl Darlow, who decided not to renew his contract at Leeds United, but the Wales goalkeeper is set to join Manchester United. EXCLUSIVE BY BOBBY MANZI  Everton assess Manchester United academy product Sam Johnstone as an optionDarlow to make switch from Leeds to Man UnitedManchester United are close to signing Karl Darlow as a back-up goalkeeper.He is a free agent after leaving Leeds United at the end of his contract and his representatives have been discussing a two year deal.Leeds have made efforts to re-sign him while Everton also made an offer but agreement is now expected to be concluded with United as competition for Senne Lammens. United also expect to sell Altay Bayindir. Andrey Santos’s move to United is progressing swiftly following his medical today.The club are expected to confirm his £48m arrival from Chelsea over the weekend. Read the full story on Santos’ move here. Everton’s Iroegbunam a wanted man  Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is attracting interest from Hull City and clubs in Italy.The 23-year-old has one year on contract and has also attracted enquiries from Ipswich Town.Iroegbunam had offers from Lazio in January and a deal to Italy could yet be resurrected.Everton remain in the market for a goalkeeper with Coventry City keen in Mark Travers.They had held talks with Karl Darlow but he is joining Manchester United.Everton hold an interest in Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane, whose agent was recently pictured at Finch Farm training ground, but a deal is considered unlikely at this stage. Eagles swoop for MinguezaCrystal Palace have signed Oscar Mingueza on a free transfer from Celta de Vigo.The 27-year-old Barcelona academy product becomes Pierre Sage’s first signing as Palace boss, arriving on a four-year deal.Mingueza made 127 appearances for Celta de Vigo and was in the Europa League team of the season last term.A versatile defender, he can play centre back and full back. Brentford appear to be in pole position to land the midfielder as things stand.
