Max Verstappen blasted past 100 influencers in just 14 laps to win a chaotic exhibition go-kart race at Silverstone on Wednesday.The Red Bull star started at the back of the field and was tasked with putting the social media stars in their place live on Disney+.Within a single lap he had climbed to 37th and had unfortunately picked off Daily Mail Sport presenter Henry Williams, who had qualified 73rd. Somewhat controversially, as absolute carnage broke loose, the Dutchman left the track at the second corner to overtake this publication’s representative. Verstappen was up to fourth by lap 10, with any driver he had overtaken having to retire. And on lap 14, the four-time world champion finally got past Dutch journalist Jacky Martens to seal victory. From there on, I could really have a lot of fun trying to hunt them all down.’Once I started getting into a rhythm and was able to overtake them one by one and saw the gap closing, that was really exciting.’It was great to just be back in a go-kart again and go back to basics, it reminded me of racing back in the day.’It’s a really beautiful track and well designed.
