It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…Saints say no to Leeds’ Charles bidSouthampton have rejected Leeds United’s £20million offer for Shea Charles.Leeds are expected to return to negotiations later this week for the 22-year-old Northern Ireland international midfielder.Saints are among the clubs showing an interest in Hibernian’s Josh Mulligan.The 23-year-old Scot is also on Middlesbrough’s radar as they continue to ponder options to possibly replace Hayden Hackney, who has been the subject of offers from Everton.Crystal Palace’s David Ozoh, who was on loan at Derby last season, has also been proposed. Shea Charles is the subject of interest after Southampton remained in the ChampionshipRamsey in line for Oxford job Former Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey is on Oxford United’s shortlist to replace Matt Bloomfield who left the club last week.The 35-year-old, who retired from playing earlier this year, has held talks with League One Oxford over their vacant head coach position and is understood to have impressed despite his lack of management experience.Ramsey did have a spell in charge as caretaker of Cardiff in 2025 after head coach Omer Riza was relieved of his duties. Ramsey drew two and lost one of his three games in charge.Oxford are hoping to make a quick appointment in preparation for League One next season following their relegation from the Championship.Former coach Matt Bloomfield was sacked after their relegation.The 42-year-old replaced Gary Rowett in January and despite some encouraging results and performances in the second half of the season, he was unable to keep them in the second tier. Former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is on Oxford United’s shortlist to become their new bossFresh twist in Casemiro’s Inter Miami move Casemiro’s move to Inter Miami still hinges on final negotiations over his discovery rights.The former Manchester United midfielder has agreed a two year contract with option for a third year with co-owner David Beckham’s franchise but Miami have still to agree a package with LA Galaxy.As Daily Mail Sport reported, Galaxy demanded £750,000 ($1million) in compensation for their discovery rights after being the franchise that first instigated contact with the Brazil international.They also proposed to the 34-year-old a number of contract offers before his head was turned by the prospect of living in Miami and linking up with Argentina captain Lionel Messi.Talks are now around the £450,000 mark as Miami try and seek a compromise on the figure.Galaxy, however, have also asked for Miami to be fined £750,000 for breaching discovery rights regulations. Casemiro’s move to Inter Miami still hinges on final negotiations over his discovery rightsNottingham Forest chase Tottenham star Nottingham Forest are among the clubs showing interest in Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall after he indicated he wishes to leave the club.The 20-year-old believes he will get fewer first team opportunities under Roberto de Zerbi who is pushing for the club to bring in two new midfielders.Aston Villa and Chelsea made enquiries for Bergvall in January but the latter are looking at other options. Bayern Munich have also been monitoring developments.Spurs signed Bergvall ahead of Barcelona but De Zerbi wants experience to guide Spurs more quickly to the next level after two seasons of relegation form.A £75m bid for Sandro Tonali was rejected last week by Newcastle, and as yet no new bid received. They have also opened talks for Manchester United target Mateus Fernandes at West Ham and could yet bring back Joao Palhinha.Bergvall only played 112 minutes of football under De Zerbi, starting one of the Italian’s six games in charge and featuring mainly as a substitute.
