Kyle Busch’s brother, Kurt, has opened up on the shocking final moments of the NASCAR legend’s life, admitting: ‘It just escalated so fast’.The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion died suddenly on May 21 after being taken ill while using a racing simulator. It later emerged he had contracted pneumonia that progressed into sepsis and led to his death aged just 41.Older brother Kurt, also a NASCAR Cup Series champion, revealed in an interview on Today, that crew chief Andy Street heard Kyle coughing in the restroom after a simulator session then found him sat against the wall with blood in the sink. After he called an ambulance, it was announced he would miss the Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte that weekend, but just hours later, he had passed away. Kurt has now shared an insight into the awful hours in hospital as Busch lost his life surrounded by his loved ones, apart from his dad, who made the heartbreaking decision that he did not want to see his son and remember him that way.’I was there at the hospital, all day,’ Kurt said ‘Hoping. Praying. Hoping for a turnaround. And so I don’t explain it to people, I don’t. ‘What I saw, what I went through, nobody needs to go through that. Samantha’s right there all the way through. My mom. My dad. Team owners were starting to show up, and NASCAR (officials).’Kurt wiped away tears in the interview as he recalled his final words to his brother at his bedside. ‘I said, ‘I got you man. Come on. I got you. I got you, come on. Be strong,’ he recalled. ‘Just wasn’t fair.’Just three days later, the Busch family appeared at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600, including wife Samantha, son Brexton and daughter Lennix in a heartbreaking scene as the NASCAR family stood behind them in support.On NASCAR Americana on USA Network earlier this month, Kurt Busch recalled that moment. ‘To have that moment of symbolization for Kyle and just see Brexton standing there, there’s a moment of ‘Wow.
