Jerry Sandusky is set to return to court next month with one of his accusers expected to recant his testimony against the disgraced former Penn State football coach.Sandusky, 82, was found guilty in 2012 of 45 counts of sexual abuse of ten boys he met at his Second Mile charity, which allegedly took place over a period of 15 years between 1994 to 2009. However, according to a sworn affidavit obtained by ABC News, one of his accusers, known only as Victim 10, is now willing to testify that Sandusky did not abuse him.An evidentiary hearing has now been scheduled for September 8 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.Victim 10 testified for the prosecution during Sandusky’s trial but now alleges that prosecutors influenced his testimony. He also claims they asked him to revisit and reframe his allegations against the former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator.He writes in the affidavit that ‘[t]hroughout the pretrial process, I was told – both directly and indirectly – that trauma may have fragmented my memory, and that I could safely affirm details I did not fully recall. I was assured this was common and even expected.’ One of Jerry Sandusky’s accusers is expected to recant his testimony against the ex-coach Sandusky, pictured with wife Dottie, was found guilty of 45 counts of sexual abuse of ten boys The convicted sex offender, pictured during a prison phone call with his wife, spoke to The Daily Mail in 2024 Sandusky was a prominent coach in the world of college football and had been the defensive coordinator for Penn State’s Nittany Lions since 1977 The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office is set to respond to the bombshell allegations during next month’s hearing.Sandusky’s defense team also alleged in a motion seeking a new trial that Victim 10’s estranged wife is willing to testify that she thinks he was not abused by Sandusky.In response, Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office prosecutors declared ‘what she thinks may or may not have really happened to [Victim 10] when he was 10 years old, or any other Sandusky child victim for that matter, is irrelevant and inadmissible.’The convicted child molester previously protested his innocence in an interview behind bars with The Daily Mail in 2024, saying he was in ‘disbelief’ at what happened to him.’I never ever in my life ever thought about molesting anybody,’ he said. ‘I was accused of heinous crimes, which I’ve never committed. My wife was my only partner in sex and that was after marriage.’I was in disbelief in terms of how this happened. Why were they [accuser] saying things that were so inconsistent with what they had said before?’I believe I was wrongfully convicted by inconsistent, perjured testimony.’Sandusky’s 2011 arrest prompted the firing of Hall of Fame head coach Joe Paterno and the university has paid more than $100m million to people who said they had been abused by Sandusky.
