Everton’s £40m move for Monaco and USA striker Folarin Balogun COLLAPSES after 25-year-old changes his mind at the last minute

Everton’s on-off move for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun has collapsed after the player changed his mind on the move.A deal sheet had been put in to buy Everton more time after they had renegotiated terms on a £40million deal with Monaco, but the USA international went cool on the transfer.An issue had been raised during the 25-year-old’s medical which caused negotiations to stall. That prompted Everton to seek alternatives and attempt to renegotiate.They made contact with Manchester United over a loan for Joshua Zirkzee and also spoke to Aston Villa about a loan for Tammy Abraham. A deal sheet had been put in to buy Everton more time after they had renegotiated terms on a £40m deal with Monaco but the USA international went cool on the transferBoth attempts were rebuffed as the respective clubs felt it was too late in the window to negotiate.Everton then found accord with Monaco for a revised structure to the deal and it was progressing only for Balogun to say he no longer wanted the transfer to take place.Everton have agreed to sign Lyon’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles for £3m and Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City.
