President Trump will be among the crowd for this weekend’s college football clash between Tennessee and Texas.It emerged earlier on Wednesday that, after a tense week at the UN summit in New York, Trump is headed to Chicago on Sunday for the final day of golf’s Presidents Cup.Now a White House source has confirmed that the president will squeeze in a trip to see Arch Manning and Co in Knoxville, where the Longhorns and Volunteers – both 3-0 – face off in a huge SEC opener.The game will kick off at 12pm ET, with ESPN’s College GameDay in town for the first ever regular season meeting between Texas and Tennessee.Since returning to the Oval Office, Trump has attended some of the biggest events in sports such as the World Cup final, the Ryder Cup and the US Open final.He has also been at some of the biggest games in college football over the last decade. The president has also made several appearances at the annual Army-Navy game and earlier this year, he signed an executive order entitled ‘Preserving America’s Game.’This weekend, he will visit the 102,000-seater Neyland Stadium, for a meeting between No 1-ranked Texas and No 14 Tennessee.On Sunday, meanwhile, Trump will serve as the Presidents Cup’s honorary chairman at Medinah Country Club just outside Chicago.Trump previously accepted the PGA Tour’s invitation to do so, continuing the tradition of American and other world leaders hosting the biennial team-golf event between the US and golfers from Asia, Africa, South America and Australia.He previously served as the honorary chairman of the 2017 Presidents Cup at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey, becoming the second sitting president to attend the event. Former President Joe Biden did not attend the 2022 tournament in Charlotte, but did serve as honorary chairman. Two years later, then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was on hand for one day of the tournament in Montreal.Last year at Bethpage Black, Trump became the first sitting US president to attend the Ryder Cup.
