Donald Trump continues obsession with ‘very handsome’ NFL star… as he aims fresh dig at Super Bowl halftime show

Donald Trump continued his infatuation with NFL quarterback Jaxson Dart as he lavished the injured star with praise once again on Wednesday. The President has made no secret of his admiration for the Giants star, 23, after he endorsed Trump at a rally during this year’s offseason. Dart’s appearance at the campaign-style rally for Rep. Mike Lawler in Suffern, New York, in May sparked controversy and even ruffled feathers in his own locker room. However, Trump defended the signal caller during a speech at the White House on Wednesday as he lamented Dart’s recent potentially season-ending knee injury. ‘He’s a little hurt right now,’ Trump said, referencing Dart. ‘Good quarterback, but he endorsed Trump so heavily and he took a little heat from a rather liberal group of people in the NFL.’ The President went on to claim that those disgruntled by Dart were ‘people who put on the halftime shows,’ which he acknowledged he ‘doesn’t get.’Trump: “Another one — Jaxson. There is no evidence, however, to support this claim. ‘So, Jaxson Dart, who’s a great, talented, very handsome guy. And he loved Trump,’ Trump said. ‘He wanted to introduce me at a big rally – I had a big rally; thousands of people – he got up and he said nice things. He took a lot of heat. And then the next day, his jersey was the No. 1 selling jersey in the NFL. Isn’t that great?’ ‘I just want him to get better because we love him,’ Trump added. ‘He got hurt. It’s a dangerous game.’ It wasn’t the first time Trump has lauded the quarterback with the President previously branding Dart a ‘beautiful guy’ and claiming he has ‘legs like tree trunks.’It also wasn’t the first time that Trump has taken aim at the Super Bowl halftime show, having slammed Bad Bunny’s performance in February. The President said the rapper’s gig was ‘absolutely terrible’ and that there was ‘nothing inspirational’ about choosing a star who didn’t perform in English.
