Dana White labels Eddie Hearn a NEPO BABY as war of words escalates between the promoters over Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua showdown

Dana White’s war of words with Eddie Hearn has taken another turn after the UFC and Zuffa Boxing chief essentially branded his rival a nepo baby. The duo have been at each other’s throats over various topics this year, from Conor Benn’s future to the £150million blockbuster fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.Things have escalated over the last month. White, who runs Zuffa Boxing alongside Saudi Arabia’s boxing supremo Turki Al-Sheikh, has been billed as the main promoter for the heavyweight showdown and fought for the contest to take place in New York City. Hearn, who successfully wrestled the fight back to Cardiff, has claimed that the contract Joshua signed stipulates that White cannot be involved in the contest and threatened crunch talks with broadcaster Netflix over White’s attendance at Fury and Joshua’s press conference on Wednesday in London. And now, White has taken aim. He said on the Diary of a CEO podcast: ‘Eddie’s not the guy, Eddie’s dad is the guy.’And I’m not saying this to s*** on Eddie – I’m just being honest. I don’t dislike Eddie. But he’s not the guy; his dad’s the guy.’ Dana White (left) has taken aim at Eddie Hearn (right) as their war of words continues – source: X – @danawhite White branded Hearn a nep baby due to the sporting success of his father Barry (second left)Barry Hearn, Eddie’s father, has been a sports promoter since the 1970s and has had a huge influence on the likes of boxing, darts and snooker.Eddie, though, now works in his own right though, according to White, is in his dad’s shadow. White continued: ‘Frank Warren’s the real guy. I just saw this interview with him; I was like, ‘F***ing love it… all this f***ing talking and all this f***ing bulls***, let’s f***ing fight.”There had been doubt over whether the December 11 fight would in fact go ahead due to the involvement of White.White, whose involvement has been criticised by sections of the British boxing public, was grilled by the media in a cagey press conference, where he labelled the bout a ‘s***show’ while conceding he has ‘no idea’ if the contest will take place.’I don’t know. The guy who is supposed to be helping the fight has been hurting the fight the entire time,’ he said. ‘He hasn’t done the fight any favours. I don’t know anybody who is more full of s*** than Eddie Hearn.’When asked whether he would step aside to allow the fight to go ahead, White said: ‘That’s not up to me. I’m involved in the f***ing fight. ‘If Eddie Hearn really cared about this f***ing fight — first of all the fight would’ve happened a f***ing long time ago, one. Number two, he could finance the thing himself.’Listen, this whole thing’s a s***show right now. We’ll all know a lot more in the next three, four days, see how this thing plays out.’ The duo have been at a battle over who will promote the fight between Tyson Fury (left) and Anthony Joshua (right)White had initially raised eyebrows when Benn left Hearn’s Matchroom to join Zuffa. It remains to be seen whether White will have any involvement.Hearn said this weekend: ‘At this point, (White’s) completely cooked. What he actually said was, “We’re doing the TV production”. Which, again, in the contract, is prohibited.’After that video (of White saying he was producing the fight), I spoke to Sela (the Saudi entertainment company listed as promoters of the event). I said, “Have you seen this video?” They said, in writing, “Yes, and it’s completely untrue”.'(White) cannot do that under the contract. They want me to meet them in LA next week, which I probably will.’
