Dallas Cowboys star Charles Snowden banned for first three games of new NFL season over 2024 DUI arrest

Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the season due to a DUI arrest from 2024.The NFL announced Snowden’s ban on Tuesday without specifying a reason for it, before ESPN and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed it is a personal conduct violation for driving under the influence. The 28-year-old recently accepted a plea agreement to resolve his arrest from two years ago – which happened while he was at the Las Vegas Raiders – having pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge and been ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.He must also attend coroner’s and DUI courses as part of his plea agreement, which will reduce his charge to reckless driving if he completes the orders. After being handed the three-game ban, Snowden will miss the Cowboys’ season opener on the road against the New York Giants, their home opener against the Washington Commanders and the visit of the Baltimore Ravens to AT&T Stadium. He is still allowed to take part in Dallas’ preseason despite the suspension, which will take effect after NFL rosters reach 53 men.
