Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is understood to have been frustrated by Pierre Sage’s choice to drop Jaydee Canvot for Saturday’s defeat by Ipswich Town.Sage described the decision to leave the defender out of the squad as a ‘sporting’ one, following a poor display against Fulham the previous weekend and a disappointing week in training.But Daily Mail Sport understands his stern treatment of Canvot, a young, valuable asset, has gone down badly in the boardroom.The 20-year-old became a regular starter in the second half of last season after Marc Guehi joined Manchester City and had started Palace’s first three Premier League games under new boss Sage.The French coach was previously praised for his hardline approach towards understudies Dwight McNeil and Evann Guessand, leaving them out against Fulham to provoke a response.However, Canvot is viewed internally as a key part of the project and his omission has therefore been taken more negatively.
