A group of football fans suffered a major scare as their coach went up in flames following Sunday’s Old Firm derby.As frustrated Celtic fans headed for home having seen their side lose 1-0 at Parkhead to their bitterest rivals Rangers, the biggest concern of the day was still to come. As a group of Celtic fans travelled home the rear of their coach caught fire on the A728 near to the Emirates Arena.Thick black smoke soon dominated the Glasgow sky as fans were quickly evacuated and moved to safety as emergency services rushed to the scene in the east end of the city. Police Scotland have confirmed nobody was injured. But in a latest twist, McLean’s Coaches, who own, the coach, believe ‘vandalism’ caused the fire. A group of Celtic fans were evacuated as their coach home burst into flames after the matchA statement from McLean’s Coaches, shared by the Daily Record, after the fire claimed: ‘We are aware of an incident involving one of our coaches on the Clyde Gateway earlier today. Based on the initial information and images we have received, we have reason to believe the incident may have been caused by vandalism.’The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities, who are investigating the circumstances. The vehicle has been recovered and will undergo a full inspection.’Two fire engines were seen on site with the Clyde Gateway brought to a standstill as the blaze was tackled and eventually halted with stunned fans watching on from the side of the road. It marked the end to a disappointing day for those rooting for Celtic after they were narrowly beaten.Ryan Naderi’s first half strike was enough by the time the final whistle sounded as Celtic’s misery was compounded by the fact that they have now lost to Rangers twice in the space of eight days.
