Bengals star ridiculed for revealing his team’s secret plan to thwart Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis to reporters

Cincinnati Bengals star Jordan Battle has bizarrely revealed to reporters that his team has picked up on a tell from Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis. The Bengals travel to Miami on Sunday to take on Willis and the Dolphins, who are chasing their first win of this season. But their chances may have improved slightly after safety Battle chose to share that the Bengals had spotted something Willis does before passing to teammates. He told reporters on Friday: ‘He has a little slight little tap before every throw, though, so I feel like we could use that as a key to break on the ball.’ ‘He likes to tap the ball before he throws it, or he takes his hand off, and that gives the read to break. He’s obviously dangerous with his feet. We know we’ve got to be alert for that.’Battle’s comments quickly went viral and left Bengals fans both infuriated and puzzled as to why he would divulge the team’s secrets. Bengals star Jordan Battle bizarrely revealed his team’s game plan for Dolphins QB Malik Willis Battle announced that Willis taps the ball just before he’s about to throw a pass to a teammate One commented: ‘When you know you’ve figured out someone’s tell… first thing you wanna do is let them know exactly what it is.’Another added: ‘Yeah just go ahead and say that out loud before the game champ.’A third replied: ‘Andddddd the tell is gone… lmao.”Well he *had* a tell,’ another quipped.’Why would you say that before the game,’ one Bengals fan replied. ‘That’s postgame talk.’One stunned onlooker added: ‘His coaches definitely hate his big mouth.’ Maybe Battle is confident in exposing Willis’s weakness because of the improvement the Bengals defense has made so far this season. The Bengals have the 13th-best scoring defense in the NFL and one of the strengths of the unit has been its ability to take away the deep ball. The Bengals kept up that trend last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, one of the best offenses in the NFL, despite having five defensive backs playing new positions. The Bengals were beaten by the Jaguars last time out and Joe Burrow may be without both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins this week, with both of his top receivers dealing with injuries.Chase, who has caught 21 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns, left with a concussion in the second quarter of last week’s loss to the Jaguars while Higgins injured his groin. Both players were listed as questionable on the Bengals’ injury report on Friday. If Chase and Higgins are both inactive, it would be the first time since Chase was the fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft that Burrow would not have at least one of them in the lineup.
