The Brazil international’s current terms with Madrid expire at the end of next season and Arsenal have made him aware they are willing to step in if he fails to find agreement with the Spanish giants.Talks between the player’s agents, general director Jose Angel Sanchez and chief scout Juni Calafat took place in Madrid on Wednesday. Jose Mourinho also underlined that the 26-year-old is also firmly in his plans. Atletico lead chase for Romero Atletico Madrid are ready to firm up their interest in Tottenham defender Cristian Romero after he held talks with Inter Milan. Atletico are in talks to sell left-back Matteo Ruggeri to Aston Villa in a deal worth £19.7m if the 24-year-old agrees to go. They are also selling Nahuel Molina to Roma and the combined fees will go towards a £30m bid for Romero.
