Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres are expected to hold contract talks with Aston Villa ahead of the new Premier League season.The club’s first-choice central defensive pairing have two years remaining on their current deals and remain key men for boss Unai Emery.Villa are currently walking a tightrope to stay within UEFA spending rules. European football chiefs have effectively ruled that Villa cannot add significant players to their squad without making a sale first – so it could make more sense for them to improve deals for existing players than to trade.If Villa opted to cash in on Konsa or Torres, they would demand a high price to fund a replacement of similar quality.
