Premier League record-breaker Max Dowman has collected his GCSE results and is leaving school on the eve of his first season full-time as a professional footballer.16-year-old Dowman, the Premier League’s all-time youngest goalscorer, is pictured in his uniform and wearing braces receiving his results at the £30,000-a-year Brentwood School in Essex yesterday.Dowman juggled school work with football last season as he broke through at Arsenal, including scoring against Everton at the Emirates Stadium in March to help the Gunners to the title and collecting his winners’ medal in May.He is still too young to even share a dressing room with his senior team-mates under football’s safeguarding rules but is expected to play an even bigger role at Arsenal as they defend their title this season. And Dowman will now dedicate himself to football full-time while many of his school friends move on to Sixth Form and their A-Level studies. Sources told the Daily Mail last week that Dowman would sometimes feel stretched having had to juggle schoolwork alongside first-team football, sometimes on the bench for a late kick-off and then up early for school in the morning.
