Maxence Lacroix has been impressive at the heart of Chelsea’s defence so far this seasonLeft back: Riccardo CalafioriSofascore rating: 7.57/10The Italian left back’s 25/26 season was plagued by injuries, and he will be hoping to make more of an impact this campaign – and he’s off to a good start.Thanks to his standout performance against Aston Villa, he won the man of the match award, completing 19 out of 21 passes, winning five duels, one tackle, one interception and, for good measure, assisted the only goal of the match.The 6ft 2in defender is also averaging 2.5 clearances a game, helping Arsenal keep clean sheets in both games so far this term.Right winger: Bukayo SakaSofascore rating: 7.47/10 Arsenal’s longest-serving player remains a bright spark on their right flank.In the opening two games of the season, he has had 12 touches in the opposition’s box, which is the sixth-most in the Premier League.The Hale End graduate has scored two goals too, including the winner against Aston Villa last time out, and is leading the charge of the current Gunners side. Bukayo Saka has shone for Arsenal this season, netting twice in his side’s first two gamesCentre midfield: Cole PalmerSofascore rating: 8.17/10SofaScore highest rated player heading into Sunday’s game battled a groin injury for much of last year, so Chelsea fans’ nerves were on edge watching him get subbed off against Fulham in their league opener.But they needn’t worry – the 24-year-old has played in both Premier League matches so far and in the Carabao Cup – showing he is as healthy as ever.Chelsea are the highest scoring team in the league so far, largely in thanks to Palmer. He has had six shots, scoring two of them, and added an assist too.Centre midfield: Martin OdegaardSofascore rating: 7.93/10Arsenal’s captain is a steady presence for the Gunners as they look to repeat last season’s success.The Norwegian has been at the core of Arsenal’s resurgence under Mikel Arteta.Odegaard scored against Coventry in the season opener and is top of Arsenal’s tackling ranks, helping to keep them top of the table.Attacking midfield: Morgan RogersSofascore rating: 7.57/10Chelsea fans can only be ecstatic by one of the biggest transfers of the summer in Rogers. The newest squad member is carrying on from his time in Aston Villa with high production in the final third.Rogers’ ability to drive through the midfield ranks him as one of the most dangerous ball carriers in the division, averaging the most expected assists (1.11) per game.Scoring a goal and recording one assist so far in this campaign, the £117million man looks more than worth it for Chelsea. Cole Palmer (left), Joao Pedro (centre) and Morgan Rogers (right) have been a devastating trio so far this seasonCentre forward: Joao PedroSofascore rating: 7.67/10Pedro shoulders most of Chelsea’s goal scoring responsibility. He fought off competition from Liam Delap for the starting striker position last season, with Delap being sold to Nottingham Forest in the summer.The good news is he looks completely up to task – that point was driven home by scoring in the first minute against Fulham.The Brazilian’s talent has been on full display so far this season, recording a goal and an assist in both matches played. Pedro’s tenacity is felt in the scoring for Chelsea, but his opponents feel it in conflict, with the Brazilian winning 17 duels in two games in the Premier League – the fourth most in the league.Centre forward: Danny WelbeckSofascore rating: 7.50/10Eyebrows were raised when Xabi Alonso brought 35-year-old Welbeck and 36-year-old Jordan Henderson in the summer.But it signifies a clear stamp of identity in a side that struggled to have one in previous seasons, with the Spaniard looking to add experience to his squad.Though Premier League game time has been limited, Welbeck did get a run out against Luton in the League Cup, amassing two shots on target and converting one.He has scored three Premier League goals in 12 appearances against the Gunners. He’ll be hoping to add to this, should he get the call up to lead the line at some point in the game.
