Arsenal hit with double injury blow for Fulham clash – but key player should pass late fitness test as Mikel Arteta’s men aim to go six points clear at top

Arsenal remain without Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber as they continue their charge for the Premier League title against Fulham on Saturday.

‘Let’s see how everybody is tomorrow morning, obviously, we haven’t been able to train much, so tomorrow we will have a final update,’ Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said.

‘Kai and Jurrien will be out.’

Arteta, however, suggested captain Martin Odegaard should be fit after being forced off during their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in their Champions League semi-final first leg.

Timber has been absent with an ankle problem since Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton in mid-March.

Havertz suffered an injury in the Gunners’ narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle last weekend, with the forward having to be replaced by Viktor Gyokeres after 34 minutes.

Arsenal currently hold a three point lead over Man City at the top of the Premier League, although Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand.

The Gunners can increase the pressure on their nearest rivals by extending their lead to six points with victory over Fulham.

Man City would then have to respond on Monday night when they travel to Everton.
