Arsenal agree to sell £17.1m Leandro Trossard to Turkey – with just one year left on his contract

Besiktas have agreed a £17.1million deal with Arsenal to sign Leandro Trossard.The deal will see Arsenal get £15.4m up front and £1.7m in add-ons for the 31-year-old.Trossard, who is at the World Cup with Belgium, only has one year left on his Arsenal contract. He joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2023.He had become Mikel Arteta’s first choice on the left side of attack during the season run-in, edging ahead of the likes of Gabriel Martinelli.But no progress has been made in any contract talks, and the Gunners have opted to bite the bullet and sell him this summer.The news may come as a blow to Arsenal fans, who will feel the Belgian still had plenty to offer them.
