By the time he married LaNasa, Hopper was sober, having previously acquired a reputation as the ultimate Hollywood hellraiser; pictured 1989They welcomed a daughter called Marin, now 63, and remained together six years before the marriage crumbled under the strain of Hopper’s drinking, drug use, indulgence in orgies and temper so volcanic Hayward said he once broke her nose. Hayward’s son from a previous marriage, Jeffrey Thomas, said Hopper once ‘chased us with a gun to kill all of us’ during ‘a psychotic episode,’ via Vanity Fair. His next wife was Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas, who left him after eight days under a cloud of rumors he had made ‘unnatural sex demands’ of her.Hopper’s next two stabs at marriage were with an arts therapist called Daria Halprin and LaNasa, each of whom had one child with him.During her time with Hopper, LaNasa was in the midst of a career shift from ballet to acting and had yet to achieve the celebrity she enjoys today on The Pitt. Meanwhile Hopper at that point had gone on the wagon and, after a stretch of career doldrums, mounted a comeback with such films as Blue Velvet. His last and longest-lasting wife was Victoria Duffy, whom he married in 1996, and with whom he welcomed a daughter called Galen in 2003.During his time with Duffy, Hopper settled into a gentle lifestyle as a golf-loving family man, while refashioning his previous Hollywood wild man image into that of a respectable if occasionally cantankerous eminence grise. However, by the time he was dying of cancer in 2010, he was in the midst of a rancorous divorce from Duffy, against whom he was granted a restraining order after describing her as ‘volatile,’ ‘insane’ and ‘inhuman.’A mere two weeks before his death, Duffy insisted Hopper was in fit enough condition to be deposed, citing credit card records that purportedly showed he was still leaving the house to procure medical marijuana every week, according to E! News.Meanwhile, after her split from Hopper, LaNasa was married from 1998 to 2009 to sitcom star French Stewart of 3rd Rock from the Sun and Mom fame. She has been married since 2012 to Grant Show, known as the steamy biker Jake Hanson on Melrose Place, and they share a 12-year-old daughter called Eloise.
