The Pitt may have led the way with the most 2026 Primetime Emmy Award nominations with an incredible 25 when they were announced last week but one of those nods came from a performer’s self-funded campaign. The nods were announced last Wednesday as the Noah Wyle-led HBO medical procedural drama earned over a two dozen including Best Drama Series despite rumors of on-set turmoil centered around the show.Jeff Kober was nominated in the Best Guest Actor in a Drama category and spent money out of his own pocket to achieve that recognition.The 72-year-old veteran actor will face stiff competition including previous Emmy winners Bradley Whitford and Jeff Hiller in addition to Oscar nominees Colman Domingo and Jonathan Pryce in addition to his castmate from the HBO series, Ernest Harden Jr.Kober portrayed motorcycle guru Duke on The Pitt as he was not included in HBO’s official batch of Emmy submissions so he decided to self-submit and campaign on his own.Of the decision, he told Page Six Hollywood: ‘To be fair, the bet was only a 225-buck submission fee and a little work. In 2022, he earned Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the ABC soap.He went on to say that it is important to get behind and support yourself as he was not the only star of The Pitt to self-submit as Brittany Allen also did the same and scored a nomination. The 40-year-old actress was nominated in the Best Guest Actress in a Drama category alongside castmates Tal Anderson, and Tina Ivlev. Meanwhile, The Pitt absolutely dominated the acting categories with Wyle, 55, earning a nod for top honor Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series.He had previously earned that same award at last year’s ceremony for season 1 of the drama.The Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category features four stars from The Pitt including last year’s winner Katherine LaNasa. Sepideh Moafi, Fiona Dourif, and Taylor Dearden also earned nods.
