Bella Varelis has shared how she is relying on painkillers and feels ‘helpless’ after breaking her ankle. The Bachelor star confessed she was struggling to function and overwhelmed after becoming injured in an accident earlier this month. ‘Overnight, I lost so much of my independence. I can’t walk. I can’t shower alone. I can’t get around without help,’ the 31-year-old wrote in an emotional Substack post. Bella said that the pain has become ‘unbearable’ and she has been relying on medication, including painkillers and anti-anxiety beta blockers, to cope. ‘I’ve become reliant on painkillers and on the people around me,’ she wrote. ‘Some days I feel frustrated. I always say I’m okay. But on a deeper level, I’m really not.’ Bella said that her boyfriend, actor Sam Corlett, has been her primary support system. ‘My boyfriend has been my strength, and my family have gently reminded me that I don’t have to carry everything alone,’ she wrote. Bella was hospitalised following the accident, which happened in mid-September. The former reality star shared a photo on social media at the time in which she was in a hospital ward, alongside a message to her devoted followers. ‘Gonna be a little 000 over the next two weeks after an accident over the weekend,’ Bella said. ‘Overnight, I lost so much of my independence. I can’t walk. I can’t shower alone. At the time, the star admitted she had been ‘lying’ to her fans for ten days and using old photos on social media to conceal her surgery.Bella used Doctor Scott Turner in Sydney’s Bondi and spent a total of $12,873 on a mini nose job and eyelid lift to one eye. She has also previously admitted to getting fillers under her eyes and in her bottom lip.
