Suki Waterhouse has reflected on her ‘disaster’ relationship with her ex Bradley Cooper as she revealed how she’s battled depression as a result of heartbreak. The model turned singer, 34, is now engaged to Robert Pattinson and the pair share their two-year-old daughter. However from 2013 to 2015 she dated one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Bradley Cooper.Their split appeared to coincide with the Hang Over star’s new relationship with Russian supermodel Irina Shayk. And now reflecting on the relationship, Suki alluded to it being a ‘disaster’ as she confessed that she can’t believe how happy she is now with Robert after so much heartbreak.  ‘Maybe I was surprised because before I had only ever gone out with someone for two years and if it was two years it would have been a disaster at the end.’  Suki Waterhouse has reflected on her ‘disaster’ relationship with Bradley Cooper and revealed she battled depression after feeling ‘stifled’ by heartbreak (pictured together in 2014)  She said: ‘Maybe I was surprised because before I had only ever gone out with someone for two years and if it was two years it would have been a disaster at the end’She told The Sunday Times: ‘When you’re younger you go into everything so blindly and you don’t think of consequences, including maybe of relationships. You don’t really have any concept of any repercussions of being in things that are public that might be hard to…’After Bradley and Suki broke up, the star locked herself in her flat in Notting Hill and realised she also wanted to leave modelling. ‘I felt quite stifled by it… I started feeling, like, I have to find a way out of here or I’m going to drown. I definitely do remember a time where I felt quite depressed, but I channelled that into writing.’ Suki is now in a happy relationship with her fiancé Robert and revealed at some point the pair plan to hold a ‘massive’ wedding. Reflecting on their ‘beautiful’ relationship, Suki has admitted their wedding plans are on hold for at least a few more months whilst they both concentrate on work, but if and when the couple do wed, it will not be an intimate affair.Suki previously described her split from Bradley as a ‘colossal heartbreak’ as she opened up about the turbulent chapter in her life in an interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine in February 2023. ‘I was kind of depressed for a while,’ she confessed. ‘It stuck around for a long time. I think it was just the break-up and also just being in my twenties and in the f***ing trenches.’The star also admitted to growing weary of relentless comparisons with her former boyfriend’s new partner. Suki is now in a happy relationship with her fiancé Robert and revealed at some point the pair plan to hold a ‘massive’ wedding (pictured in 2022) ‘You constantly read about how much more beautiful the new girlfriend is or whatever,’ she said. ‘That sounds silly, but when you’re actually the one that’s heartbroken, it’s pretty rough.’She told British Vogue in 2024: ‘I really will say that I’m pretty strong at this point, but when something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating.’ Admitting the effect it had on her, she added: ‘It probably has taken a decade to work myself out and actually be able to have this expansion in my life.’If you told her then this is where she would be now I wouldn’t have believed you.’Prior to Bradley, Suki dated British musician Miles Kane from 2011 until 2013 before later dating Diego Luna from 2015 until 2017. However, Suki confirmed that Robert isn’t jealous of any of her exes as he knows ‘no one is better than him’. The singer, who released her debut album I Can’t Let Go back in 2022, uses her previous heartbreak as a motif in many of her songs, but this doesn’t faze Robert. She explained that her ex Miles messaged her to say that her new song My Fun ‘is boss’ and the Twilight star just finds it funny. Suki added: ‘[Robert] has a lot of humour about that kind of stuff. He couldn’t really give a s**t. He’s like, “No one’s better than me, so whatever”.’
