Sam Armytage set to return to Today show in a matter of weeks after celebrating 50th birthday

Samantha Armytage is set to make a welcome return to the Today show within weeks, following her milestone 50th birthday celebrations on Friday.The veteran presenter stepped into the hot seat last month, filling in alongside co-host Tom Steinfort. Sam quickly proved a popular addition to the breakfast line-up.However, she was missing from the desk last week as she took time out to celebrate turning 50 in Queensland. Now, her return to the Nine breakfast program appears to be firmly on the cards.According to Media Diary, Sam is expected back on in the near future, ahead of Channel Nine revealing who will permanently replace Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo. Excuse the manky week-old Logies spray tan…’ she wrote alongside a laughing, crying and vomiting emoji. Armytage also uploaded a video of herself on the couch explaining how she’d ended up in a foot brace. ‘I know what you’re thinking, why is she lying there with her ankle raised above her heart? Well, say hello to my little friend,’ she said, pointing the camera to her foot. Armytage said that she had fractured her ankle in ‘a couple of places’ while performing the very mundane task.’I wish I had a sexy story for you, but I don’t.
