Gemma Rose Barnes has welcomed her second son with husband Jordan Bishop. The MAFS star took to Instagram earlier this month to reveal she had given birth to baby Remy as she celebrated Rainbow Baby Day following seven miscarriages. Gemma was rushed to hospital early after her waters broke and Remy was born via caesarean at 34 weeks. The mother, who already shares son Franklin, two, with Jordan, revealed he was placed in a higher dependency care after struggling with breathing but was ‘doing really well’. However, Gemma confessed she had been struggling with the postpartum recovery after a traumatic birth. Taking to Instagram, she shared how she was struggling with the C-section pain as she explained she had pain around her incision and abdomen. MAFS star Gemma Rose Barnes has welcomed her second son Remy after seven miscarriages as she shared her post-birth health struggles following a caesarean earlier this monthShe wrote: ‘So for 6 days I’ve experienced increasing levels of pain in my incision and abdomen which I have had to over explain to 8 doctors and many senior midwives with the last doctor telling me it’s in my head, most people don’t have pain after 2 days of a c-section, for it to turn out to be quite serious.’A possible hematoma, and collection of fluid and a possible infection, the only concern has been not giving me too many pain meds and going against any plans put in place time and time again because the next professional didn’t agree.’The last time I had a baby I had sepsis as a result of not being believed, for 10 days in placenta and womb -And was not even told I had it.’Feeling many PTSD emotions that a couple days after I felt healed from – until my symptoms didn’t match the care level the hospital wanted to offer.’One male doctor told me I’m making it up for a female doctor to come 5 minutes later as per his request to say I need an emergency scan, IV ANTIBIOTICS and pain management.’Later updating fans she added: ’36 hours of IV antibiotics and my pockets of fluids in my abdomen have at least doubled in size.’Whilst the doctors hope it’ll clear itself I am not so confident. My scar started leaking small amounts of water and this was fascinating to every professional as they’ve not heard of it but many women with the same issue after c-section have reported the same leaking, bursting or body absorbing.’I am now on tablet antibiotics but see it being drained. I have basically testicles hanging from my belly What feels like a few litres of fluid in pockets and a big pockets over the top that you can shake and see fluid move. I started crying and shaking instantly and was able to say between crying he wasn’t to be a part of my treatment.’Jordan explained he had said it was all my head and he said no he didn’t (gaslighting and went to get another opinion but that opinion was the lead consultant who said i was showing signs of hematoma and needed an emergency scan with pain management.’Jordan told him to get lost basically and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have a husband like mine. He’s slept on that chair couch thing for nearly a week and supported us through every moment in hospital.’A haematoma is a collection of blood outside of blood vessels, usually caused by an injury or bump that damages a blood vessel under the skin or inside the body. Gemma previously suffered sepsis following the birth of her first child with Jordan. She penned: ‘That 18 months after my sepsis were the hardest, the first year my speech was so awful, I could see the words but couldn’t form them out loud. ‘I would start sentences and go blank to an extreme where I couldn’t find more works to explain myself I why I couldn’t talk. I caught every illness as my immune system was non existent.’I was weak in energy, bed bound so often and with no aftercare we didn’t know where to turn to get better.’I had pain in my womb, s*x became painful, I had extreme contracting pains on and off for a year. I felt like I had a stroke.’I was in deep depression and our relationship struggled so deeply, Jordan suffered with his mental health catastrophically.’In December 2025, Gemma tied the knot with Jordan in Las Vegas, and took to her Instagram to share the joyous news with fans.Gemma appeared on Married At First Sight in 2022 and was paired with Matt Murray, in an extremely ill-fated union which she revealed led to a breakdown.After leaving the programme, she was left suffering panic attacks and revealed she was spending £1k a day on drugs, ending up homeless and bankrupt. Since going into recovery, she jetted to Turkey to undergo gastric sleeve surgery, admitting she has now ‘got my happily ever after’.
