Lorna Luxe has shared an emotional tribute to her late husband John Andrews as she marks his first birthday since he died.The influencer, 44, lost John, to whom she was married for 16 years, in February following his 2023 diagnosis and subsequent gruelling battle with stage four adrenal cancer.Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she posted a slew of loved-up moments with her husband throughout the years.Alongside the post, she penned: ‘Today would have been your 65th birthday. I miss you John so so much… ‘I’m reading all the notes you left me and i’m doing all the silly sh*t you told me to… spending today with our favourite people and remembering so many special memories we shared together x.’The moving post comes after Lorna revealed that she has still not slept in the room she shared with John since his passing. Luckily, she managed to stay in the guest room; otherwise, she would have been on a mattress on the floor. ‘It feels quite poignant to get back into that room, as it was mine and John’s bedroom, and I’ve not slept in it since he died, so I want it to be perfect,’ she wrote in her column for The Sun. ‘I try to imagine what John would say if he were here – he’d probably have raced down to Screwfix by now to buy what he needed and built it himself. I miss that.’I think John would laugh at how girlie the house is becoming now it’s just me.’Lorna and John met when she was 25 and he was 46. Lorna was in the midst of her eight-year stint as a Virgin Atlantic air hostess, before marrying in NYC shortly after and going on to live together in Hove, East Sussex, and later Horsham and Warwickshire.While John previously worked as a banker, following his cancer diagnosis in 2023 and Lorna’s continued success as an influencer, he gave up his job to focus on his health and helping his wife work.The couple liked to indulge in posh hotel stays and ‘dirty weekends’ in far-flung destinations. In April, Lorna recalled John’s ‘slow and sad death’, saying: ‘The body fights it — it’s not an easy, relaxing, passing-into-sleep thing.’ Lorna explained how his death was not how she had imagined it to be as ‘every breath became a chore’.Talking about his sad passing, Lorna told The Times: ‘It wasn’t anything like you see in the films – I’d imagined me nattering away to him until the last minute and him squeezing my hand. But this was slow and sad.’When I started to go through John’s phone for his passwords, as he told me to, he’d left these short, sweet, beautiful notes.’Lorna explained how he had also left a ‘funny’ list of people she wasn’t allowed to date, but wasn’t ‘naming names’.
