Lance Bass shocked fans by claiming he was basically ‘working for free’ during NSYNC’s heyday in the 90s. The 47-year-old singer alleged that both he and his former bandmates Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick were paid only $35 each day, despite being one of the biggest boy bands at the time. ‘We had a per diem: $35 a day,’ he claimed during Thursday’s episode of The Zach Sang Show. Bass further recalled, ‘Our first check was a $10,000 check after years of number one albums, sellout tours.’I mean, I don’t know how many millions I made off our merchandise because merchandise was insane. Like, hardly at all.’Bass then added, ‘I mean, the label made a f*** ton and Lou Pearlman, of course. You know, one of the biggest scam artists of all times, made a lot,’ referring to the band’s late former manager.Back in 1999, Pearlman was sued for defrauding them out of half their earnings, and the lawsuit was later settled out of court. In 2008, Pearlman was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of conspiracy, money laundering as well as making false statements amid a bankruptcy proceeding.He passed away in prison at the age of 62 on August 19, 2016. Bass revealed that he doesn’t hold onto any hard feelings anymore, although he admitted that he once did.  ‘It’s so weird how people think I’m so filthy rich from NSYNC,’ he expressed. ‘No, not at all’ Bass then added, ‘I mean, the label made a f*** ton and Lou Pearlman, of course. Oh, you’re fine. Oh, dance, land on your knees. You’re young. You know, you don’t need to sleep. You’re a kid.”‘ Bass continued, ‘Everyone just kept saying, “You’re young. You’re young.” Well, who cares if you’re young? You still need to make a living and set yourself up for the future.’Because most of these cases, it’s a finite time of being able to do something like that. And no one set us up for life after that.’ Daily Mail has reached out to reps of Bass for comment, but has yet to hear back. NSYNC was formed in 1995, but the band first found its start of fame when the group was launched in Germany by BMG Ariola Munich. ‘I did at a time.
