Hailey Bieber has shared a behind the scenes look at husband’s Justin Bieber’s Coachella headliner set.
Among the Instagram dump are videos of Hailey and the couple’s son Jack Blues, 19 months, dancing along as Justin rehearses his set, including the most-talked about moment of the show – his ‘impromptu’ YouTube scrolling.
Bieber’s stripped back set, which saw him perform in a hoodie whilst surfing YouTube for his old hits, left many fans underwhelmed, with debate centered on his unconventional staging and focus on new music.
On Monday, Hailey, 29, took to Instagram to share a series of photos she took with the pop star, 32, and their son from before his weekend one performance including his sunset soundcheck.
One short clip showed the model dancing by herself to her husband singing along to an old clip of himself singing Favorite Girl from his debut album.
Fans went wild over the video with one viral X post declaring ‘justin was really out there rehearsing his youtube scrolling i’m crying’.
Many were shocked that the standout moment of the show wasn’t ‘spontaneous’.
‘Haha that’s so funny given the post performance drama … practicing using YouTube,’ posted one on X.
‘Bro really thought Justin pulled up his watch history mid-set like the rest of us at 3AM. Nah, that was a $10M scripted doomscroll with zero ads, perfect timing, and camera angles on lock. Rehearsed relatability hitting different, next up: Bieber practicing his “casual” bathroom mirror selfie for the next tour. What a time to be alive.’
‘Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube in 2008. “Baby” was second video to reach 1 billion views on YouTube. Coachella’s global livestream partner is YouTube. Should have known The Biebs was literally rehearsing the YouTube bit of his set. Well played.’
‘The fact that hundreds of people from Coachella and his team approved this mess…’
‘Had to make sure an ad wouldn’t play on stage,’ quipped another.
Others though defended Justin, pointing out that any star needs to do a full run-through of their set, no matter how stripped back the production.
‘That YouTube screen was a custom built video playback system synced to lighting, sound and staging it’s called a performance choice you don’t accidentally land a 90 minute headlining slot at the biggest festival in the world by winging it with a browser tab,’ pointed out one popular post.
In her post, Hailey also included an adorable family photo with Justin holding Jack Blues backstage on festival grounds in Indio, California.
The Rhode founder also included a close-up snapshot of her son’s forearm with a fake ‘bieberchella’ tattoo.
She wore a black crop top paired with baggy gray sweats as she stood on the grass holding Jack Blues and watched Justin sing onstage.
She wrote a sweet caption dedicated to her husband and hinted at the challenges Justin faced before he became a headlining act at the music festival.
Hailey gushed: ‘such a special weekend. nobody will ever know even an ounce of what it’s taken to get here. so grateful for this beautiful life. SO proud. let’s do it all again!!!!’
The longtime couple tied the knot in 2018, and Hailey gave birth to their first child in August 2024.
In addition to their cute family portraits, Hailey also included several snapshots of herself in various looks she wore over the weekend, including at an event for her brand Rhode.
At a Rhode World event for her beauty brand, she wore a bright yellow minidress with pink lace details and a pair of satin, blue sandal heels.
She also shared a photo of herself dancing at a late-night soiree in skimpy attire.
Hailey wore an all-black outfit paired with a fuzzy animal-print jacket for her statement piece.
Underneath her patterned outerwear, she sported a sheer mesh top that revealed her bra, which she paired with micro shorts and tall boots.
She also posted a glamour shot of herself touching up her makeup while sitting on a golf cart at Coachella during the day.
Her carousel post also included a photo of herself wearing a blue-and-black windbreaker, the same look she wore on Saturday night when Justin took the stage for his headlining set.
During Justin’s performance, he performed some of his oldest and biggest hits as well as his latest musical releases from his back-to-back albums Swag and Swag II.
He also sang the minimalistic acoustic song Everything Hallelujah and serenaded his wife and their son.
The audience of fans went wild after he sang, ‘Hailey, babe, hallelujah / baby Jack, hallelujah,’ in the second chorus.
After he name-dropped Hailey, a camera flashed to the model, who blushed, smiled, and blew a kiss.
This year’s Coachella event has been affectionately dubbed ‘Bieberchella,’ with fans relishing in the Canadian singer’s comeback.
The hitmaker previously cancelled his Justice world tour in 2022 for health reasons.
But last summer Bieber released his surprise seventh studio album, Swag, to critical acclaim on July 11.
It was followed by a deluxe album, Swag II, just weeks later on September 5.
The Biebers have wielded their star power with back-to-back business collaborations.
First, the husband and wife dropped a co-designed fashion collection under the performer’s latest endeavor SKYLRK.
And on April 13 fans will be able to purchase the couple’s collaborative pimple patches via Hailey’s billion-dollar skincare brand Rhode.
