Jim Davidson breaks his silence on falling for new girlfriend weeks after cancelling his sixth wedding as he says ‘lots of ladies want to date me – but she’s too good to be true’

Jim Davidson has broken his silence on his new girlfriend Maria Rice-Mundy just weeks after he revealed he had called off his sixth wedding to ex partner Natasha. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Big Break star, 72, claimed that he and Tash, 49, actually broke up for the final time three months ago, with her being the one to end the tumultuous relationship.Jim is said to have fallen hard for beauty pageant winner Maria, 60, who co-hosted TV game show, Sale Of The Century and Bob’s Your Uncle alongside the late Bob Monkhouse in the late 1980s.He told the Daily Mail that long-term friend Maria, is ‘too good to be true’ and while he insists he is not short of female attention, he said ‘she has something special about her.’ Jim admitted he is still getting over his last break-up but said he is free to date again after Tash broke up with him and he hates the thought of feeling lonely. Speaking about his new romance, Jim said: ‘Maria’s not a new lady. I’ve known her for years. In fact, I gatecrashed her wedding 30 years ago. We were together for three years and of that time, I would say we had a great 18 months.’ ‘I’ll be honest, I am not short of ladies who want to date me but Maria has something special about her. She makes me feel like I’m not as useless as I’ve been made out to be.’But I will say, if my ex Tash is ever in the s**t, she can call me and I’ll be there for her.’Gathering his thoughts, Jim said he wasn’t yet over the split which saw him cancelling his and Tash’s Hampton Court wedding and losing a £10,000 deposit. No doubt he feared losing even more of his fortune if he were to have another failed marriage, after previously racking up £60million in divorce costs. He said: ‘It takes a while to get over something like this. Maria and I have had some dinners together and we are seeing how it goes. ‘Natasha dumped me three months ago. She said I had given her no choice – but to be honest it was up and down and we would split up every month. ‘I would just like to not be lonely.
