James Martin’s Saturday Morning star Alysia Vasey has announced she is divorcing her husband after losing ‘just about everything’ less than a year into their marriage.Known as the Yorkshire Forager, Alysia, 54, admitted the couple had split months ago despite only getting married last year.Alysia, who hasn’t revealed the full name of her farmer husband, shared an emotional video with her Instagram followers this week, telling them: ‘So this is a hard one. I feel like coming clean because there’s no point wearing a wedding ring when your marriage is over.”And it has been since before Christmas. I know I haven’t been married long.’The star, who gave up her job as a teaching assistant to become a forager and regularly appears on ITV, said: ‘I’m a big believer in love, marriage, everything. But I just got taken for a ride. Got all the money taken from me.’Everything. Absolutely everything. It’s been a struggle. Absolute struggle these last eight, nine months. I hope you’re all well.’In the accompanying caption she added that she has ‘lived unimaginably hard times, that I have put a brave face on. It’s been very tough for me the last 4 years, I’ve managed to break free, but lost just about everything’.She wrote: ‘I’m still coming to terms with everything and hopefully one day will find the peace and love that I deserve.’In February 2025, Alysia revealed she was recently married on James Martin’s show, excitedly telling the host that she would be going by her new married surname of Greenwood.James told her: ‘I am not going to get the hang of this. I have been calling you Alysia Vasey for years now.’Alysia then added: ‘Better foraging name, Greenwood!’In a January 2024 post on X she shared a photo of her partner’s proposal and her engagement ring as she gushed: ‘My love proposed to me on New Year’s Eve… and I said Yes!’ Alysia, who had been sharing photos of their life together prior to the split, posted an emotional video ‘Looking forward to spending a lifetime together… (what’s left of it knocking on a bit) an exciting year ahead!’Alysia had posted photos of her travels with her husband in the months before the split, including a holiday snap from Sorrento in August 2025.Alysia, who also appears on Countryfile, makes a living supplying some of the country’s top Michelin starred restaurants with her foraged finds.She was encouraged to pursue the unusual career after a childhood spent foraging with her grandfather.’Every weekend me and my brother Adrian would go for walks in the woods and on the moors with our grandad as he searched for plants, nuts, mushrooms and fruit,’ she told the Yorkshire Post.’I don’t ever remember him teaching me exactly, but I copied him and listened and he would test my knowledge, correcting me if I went wrong.”Thanks to grandad by the time I was seven or eight I could identify every tree, plant, flower, animal and bird that we came across. I knew which plants, nuts, berries and mushrooms were safe to eat and which had to be left alone.’She later learned while researching her 2020 book The Yorkshire Forager: A Wild Food Survival Journey that her Polish grandfather’s foraging came out of necessity when he was living in the woods, hiding from the Nazis during the Second World War. With her first husband Chris and the help of her mum, Vasey launched her business Yorkshire Foragers in 2010.
