It’s really sad, but it’s not the first time there have been ambulances here. ‘It’s a rehab facility, what do you expect? No one wanted a rehab, halfway-house on our block, but there was really nothing we could do about it.’ The revelations come as a distraught Crawford and Gerber were spotted on Monday for the first time since their son’s death as they left home. The neighbor said: ‘The guy who bought the property got it at a good price and then when the house next door went up for sale, he grabbed that one too. So now it’s two big houses next to each other. These are really nice houses. ‘I think he has at least seven beds in each house, if not more. He built a pickleball court in the second house, so now we hear the pickleball noise pretty much round the clock.’As there are zoning rules and federal laws – including the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – which state that local governments cannot ban these facilities or create rules that discriminate against them, residents who live next to a rehab facility or sober living home cannot do much to prevent it.The neighbor explained to the Daily Mail: ‘Since it’s a rehab, like a halfway house, there are laws that say you can’t discriminate, which is why they were allowed to create one here. ‘When the third house went on sale, I thought, oh no, this same guy is going to expand the rehab, and soon the whole block will be a rehab center.’A halfway house is a transitional living residence that helps people adjust to normal life after leaving a restrictive environment like a prison, mental hospital, or addiction treatment center.Despite the neighbor’s insistence, it differs from a rehab as halfway houses are usually overseen by a house manager or basic support staff while a rehab features doctors, nurses and licensed therapists on site and is highly structured with highly restrictive schedules including monitored medical detox.The Daily Mail has reached out to Dr Reza Nabavi and representatives for Resolutions Home and has yet to hear back. It remains uncertain how much Gerber was paying to stay at the facility, but according to Westwind Recovery, in premium coastal neighborhoods like Santa Monica and Malibu, luxury sober living costs generally range from $5,000 to more than $15,000 per month.On Monday, Presley’s parents were spotted for the first time since his death.
