They’ve proved to be the friendliest exes in showbiz, continuing to live and holiday together four years after announcing the end of their marriage. But Paddy and Christine McGuinness have laid down rules to ensure their post-split life remains harmonious and their three children – all of whom have autism – are subject to minimal disruption. Last week, Paddy threatened to rattle the family setup when it emerged he has started dating again, with the Take Me Out star linked to stunning Radio 2 publicist Emma Carey. The pair were spotted enjoying a meal at the swanky five-star Rosewood Hotel before heading to another nearby hotel.Yet speaking to the Daily Mail mere days before Paddy’s new romance went public, Christine explained how she and her ex-husband navigate dating while living together. The exes live with their twins Penelope and Leo, 11, and Felicity, eight, at their £6.5million mansion in Cheshire, where Paddy mainly resides on the top floor and Christine and the children take the bottom – but they all come and go as they please. We have personal lives outside of the house, but we don’t [bring dates home]. ‘I would never do that, this is the family home. And we never did have many visitors to the house, even when we were married, because the children would find it unsettling. ‘We haven’t got a lot of people around us, so we don’t introduce the children to just anybody. ‘So certainly when it comes to dating, anything like that is going to take a very, very long time, like years, years and years.’Christine has recently been enjoying dates with women, having told Paddy during their relationship that her sexuality is fluid.Since her divorce, Christine has been linked to the likes of footballer Chelcee Grimes, DJ Roxxxan, and boxer Nicola Adams, but this is the first time that Paddy’s dating life has made headlines. Yet it hasn’t threatened his amicable relationship with Christine, who said their co-parenting setup has been a ‘blessing’, and that more family holidays are on the cards. Christine mused: ‘We share the same family home and we share our holidays sometimes. ‘I just took the children away with my mum to Spain, Patrick was working or he would have been there. ‘But I will absolutely make sure before the children go back to school that we do get a family holiday where daddy is there too. ‘He’s always busy but it’s important to make sure that we do all get time, the children get a holiday with daddy as well. ‘So we’re more than happy to do family holidays together with my mum, with mummy and daddy there. And we will do. Will it upset the children?
