Gregg Wallace angers fans who paid £150 a month for personalised fitness coaching classes – which he was no longer actually giving

Gregg Wallace has apologised to superfans who were paying up to £150 a month for personalised fitness coaching classes – which he was no longer giving. The former MasterChef host attempted to reinvent himself as a health and fitness influencer following his sacking by the BBC last July over ‘inappropriate sexual language and humour’ claims. His online coaching classes, GreggWallace.Health, had already been running for five years when he was sacked – but he re-launched the business with a publicity drive last summer to encourage new subscribers to sign up.Wallace, 61, promised to personally train clients to improve their ‘wellness’ – with the implication that they could repeat his own physical transformation in which he lost five stone in weight and toned up considerably. But the Daily Mail has learned that customers who forked out £150 per month on the promises of weekly hour-long group coaching sessions hosted by Wallace and admission to a private WhatsApp group to discuss their health regimes with the star have been left disappointed.Frustrated customers voiced their disappointment with a flurry of one star reviews on Tripadvisor complaining they have been charged but are unable to get a response from Wallace or his team. Gregg Wallace has apologised to superfans who were paying up to £150 a month for personalised fitness coaching classes – which he was no longer giving The Daily Mail has learned that customers who forked out £150 per month have been left disappointedOne customer who signed up this year said: ‘It just seems like a rip-off. I think he’s given up on it or lost interest.’I feel really let down, he’s just ghosted me. I haven’t heard a word from anybody since they took my money.’Another wrote: ‘Despite numerous efforts to contact via email, Facebook messenger and the website I have yet to have a response with regard to the cancellation of my membership which automatically renewed.’Very disappointed in the total lack of communication. Quick to take the money but slow to respond.’Another said: ‘Is anyone else having an issue with customer service? I have had a subscription renewed with no notice and I cannot get any response from them. Really poor service.’When the Daily Mail joined GreggWallace.Health to check these claims last month we repeatedly booked slots for an introductory coaching session with Wallace which appeared to be confirmed with a calendar invite only for the star to neither show up nor offer any explanation for missing the session.Repeated messages to the customer service email and Facebook page for the group also went unanswered. Our reporter was never added to a WhatsApp group with the star, as promised.Accounts for parent company showme.fit – of which Wallace is the only director – revealed the business has £168,000 total assets including £98,000 cash in the bank. Angry customers wrote: ‘Despite numerous efforts to contact via email, Facebook messenger and the website I have yet to have a response with regard to the cancellation of my membership which automatically renewed’ He also has an Instagram page which links to the website The company employed three staff according to documents filed with Companies House – they are thought to include Wallace and his wife Anna – however, there are 11 staff listed on the GreggWallace.Health website. The Facebook and Instagram pages for GreggWallace.Health haven’t been updated since January while the main picture still shows him wearing a Christmas hat.One customer recently posted on Instagram: ‘Hey Gregg where have you gone? Not seen any posts from you for a while.’The silence is all the more surprising as Wallace has been a prolific content creator on social media, posting multiple videos per day about family life as well as some advertising other business interests including his Cameo page where fans can pay £55 for a personalised message. This is in stark contrast to the launch last June when in a video posted to Instagram, he said: ‘You do not have to accept decline as a part of getting older. You can do something about this. You can be leaner, fitter, healthier, [and] have more energy.’I went on my own wellness journey and I am healthier at 60 than I was at 30. I coach people over 50. I help them feel better and look better and have more confidence.’If you would like to speak to me about your own health journey, leave me a message here.’In a separate video posted to social media, Gregg advertised his wellbeing website and pointed to the ‘hundreds’ of healthy recipes as the answer for ‘busy people’ who were looking to improve their diets. He said: ‘If you go to GreggWallace.Health right now, you can access literally hundreds and hundreds of really healthy meals that only take minutes to make.’We’ve been doing this now for nearly five years. Working with nutritionists to produce really good, easy, really easy, healthy meals.’Gregg is also currently selling the £1 million home in Kent he shares with Anna and their son, Sid, who has autism, to start a new life in Yorkshire. He has said the money from the sale would provide an ‘income’ adding it is ‘not just for me, but for my wife when I’m no longer here.’After the Daily Mail contacted GreggWallace.Health, a spokesman said: ‘I would like to apologise that this [1-2-1 coaching with Gregg] was still available as an option to purchase on the website.’This should have been removed as we no longer offer this service on GreggWallace.Health.’A picture of Gregg in a Santa hat was also swiftly replaced on their social media. It is unclear how many customers were affected.
